Organised by the same team behind Web Summit, RISE Hong Kong is “the largest tech gathering in Asia” and a converging point for some of the region’s biggest companies, highly anticipated startup firms and most influential investors.
A StartUp Bahrain delegation, bringing together people from across the ecosystem, will be present to showcase Bahrain as an ideal launch pad for innovative startups – particularly those looking to access the GCC region. The delegation includes Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) executives, as well as officials from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism; also present will be representatives from Tamkeen (the government’s labour fund), C5 (a London, Washington D.C., and Bahrain based technology investment firm), Brinc (an ultra-hands-on emerging technology hardware accelerator), and a number of Bahrain-based startups.
On the 3rd of July, Brinc teamed up with Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading digital solutions provider, and launched the first IoT Hub in the Middle East. With the growing buzz around the internet of things, Brinc, from its base in China, has supported hundreds of founders from around the world.
We will be at RISE Hong Kong to discuss what Bahrain’s ecosystem has to offer – from access to funding (now enhanced by Bahrain Development Bank’s recently launched $100m Al Waha Fund of Funds), to initiatives designed for innovation and agility, such as the implementation of the Cloud First Policy and the Regulatory Sandbox, both the first of their kind in the Middle East.
Find us at Stand E125 to discover all things StartUp Bahrain, or meet us in one of the two events we’ll be attending – Brinc IoT’s Founders & Investors Night on 10th July, and the EDB’s “Bridging Asia and the Middle East: A Bahrain Perspective” fireside chat hosted at Mettā on 11th July.
