Bahrain remained the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s most economically free country. The Kingdom has also ranked 18th out of 178 economies worldwide, according to the 2016 Index of Economic Freedom issued by the Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal.
The report is based on 10 quantitative and qualitative factors including rule of law, limited government rule, regulatory efficiency and open markets.
